History of Black Forest Chapter 1100 Awards

Over the years the chapter and its members have been the recipient of numerous awards.  The following Awards and Certificates of Recognition/Appreciation have been presented to the Black Forest Chapter #1100 and its members by National and State AARP, and other organizations.

The banner and the badges shown are a proud part of the Chapter 1100 History.  They were presented to AARP Chapter 1100 by AARP Colorado during the years 1972 - 2018 .  The badges commemorate the Chapter excelling in the areas of Day of Service, (annually  2004 through 2008); Community Service, ( annually 2002 through 2009); Diversity (annually (2005 through 2009); Advocacy (2005 and 2007); Membership (2004, 2008, & 2009) and Education Outreach (2005).

           CHAPTER CUP HISTORY
    The Colorado Chapter Cup Traveling Trophy at the left was awarded annually by AARP Colorado, starting 1994, to a Colorado AARP Chapter for Outstanding Community Service.
      Chapter 1100 in Black Forest has been awarded the trophy 14 times; in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
     In 2018 AARP re-defined the trophy as a Colorado AARP Chapter Award instead of an AARP Award.  The same trophy with the  revised faceplate is shown at right.

Jan 2023     AARP Colorado announces that they would resume giving awards to individuals for excellence and service.
Jan 2022    Chapter 1100 allowed to resume monthly meetings with no more than 50 attendees.  Attendee restriction later lifted.
2020 -2021      AARP Colorado announced that there will be no Chapter Awards due to the Coronavirus-19.
